	Interesting Notes: This day was the Regifugium, or "Flight of the King." It commemorated the expulsion of the Etruscan monarchy by the native aristocracy and the founding of the Roman republic. (Blackburn) On Julius Caesar's calendar it was this day that was counted twice in leap year.
	Major Happenings: On this day in 30 AD, tradition has it that Matthias was elected as the apostle to fill the place of Judas after his suicide. On this day in 303 AD, the first Roman edict for persecution of the Christians was published on the order of the Emperor Diocletian.
